What Bootcamp looks like
Bootcamp is intensive. You'll work face-to-face with your cohort every day, kanohi ki te kanohi. It runs across three phases:
| Units | Phase | Topic |
|---|---|---|
| 1–3 | One | Front-end Development |
| 4–6 | Two | Back-end Development |
| 7–9 | Three | Fullstack Development and Final Group Projects |
Each phase is three weeks long (12 weeks for part-time students).
Check-ins with your Human Skills facilitators
During Bootcamp, you'll have 1:1 time with your Human Skills facilitators. This is not for technical questions — it's dedicated time for you and your emotional wellbeing during the programme. You'll meet your Human Skills facilitator on day 1 of Bootcamp.
Tech-ins with your Technical facilitators
During each phase, you'll have a 1:1 Tech-in with your technical facilitator/s. This is your chance to get feedback on your technical progress and raise any technical concerns. You can also ask for additional 1:1 time at any point during the course — you don't have to wait for a scheduled check-in.
What will drive your success
Your success in Bootcamp depends on:
- Motivation and organisation — managing your own time and energy
- Showing up fully — working alongside others, face to face, in all of it
- Using the support available — check-ins, Tech-ins, your peers, your Learning Plan
The shift in environment will bring both challenges and opportunities. Your Learning Plan is the tool that helps you navigate it intentionally.
How to use your Learning Plan in Bootcamp
Your Learning Plan is not a one-off document — it's a living tool you'll keep updating throughout Bootcamp.
A suggested habit: book 20 minutes at the start or end of each week to review and update it.
Ask yourself:
- Have you noticed your strengths showing up in practice?
- Did you hit any setbacks or challenges that week? What did you do?
- What would you do differently next time?
- What was a highlight for you?
Update your Learning Plan with what's relevant, and remove anything that no longer applies.
In the next challenge, you'll update your Learning Plan specifically for Bootcamp.
